TOP 3 Notable Games:
3. Florida: 11 @ #14 Utah: 24
Some wondered if Florida got off the bus, Utah dominated Florida in all aspects of the game including a score on the first play of the game. S-E-C who?
2. North Carolina: 31 vs. South Carolina: 17
South Carolina put up a fight in the first half but the offense was non-existent in the second half only scoring 3 points in the loss, plenty of ball left…
1. LSU: 24 vs. Florida State: 45
LSU was ran over by Florida State, and beat in all facets of the game, Florida State QB Jordan Travis was near perfect with 342 yards and 4 touchdowns in the blowout, like the other games on the list… PLENTY of ball left.
Summary:
Aside from the powerhouses who were facing less formidable opponents, the SEC was not very well represented when it came to out of conference play against opponents with a little more oomf. The teams who played UNC, Florida State, or Utah had a little bit tougher test to start off compared to Middle Tennessee, Mercer, or UT Martin, will this be a trend for the whole conference as we progress into the season?

Week 1 is in the books and some teams are still looking to gel with each other as the long season lies ahead. Some teams had good warmup and some teams had tough openers. LSU dropped a spot after its ugly loss to Florida State, and Florida Dropped 2 spots after the bad showing in Utah. Tennessee looked as they did last season with new Quarterback Joe Milton, and Ole Miss is still scoring touchdowns as we speak. A couple of Week 2 Top 25 matches could show another shuffle in the power rankings going into Week 3. Alabama will face Texas in the encore of their ’22 encounter, and Ole Miss travels to Tulane to take on the Green Wave.
