- Ole Miss was down at half of this game 17-10 with an upset in the Bayou in mind for Tulane, but the Rebels responded by outscoring the Green Wave 27-3 in the second half running away with the win.
2. #23 Texas A&M 33 @ Miami 48
- Miami played like a ranked team against #23 Texas A&M, Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke had 5(!!!) Touchdown passes, and the Miami sun shined bright on the Hurricanes offense with 450 total yards.
1. #11 Texas 34 @ #3 Alabama 24
- Former assistant coach Steve Sarkesian got a win over his former boss Nick Saban. Many mistakes doomed the Tide, like so-so Quarterback play, Poor Offensive line performance, and undisciplined defense. Quarterback Quinn Ewers could do no wrong with 349 yards and 3 touchdown passes.
Summary:
As mentioned in last week’s rewind, the question of would we notice a trend of out of conference losses by SEC teams this year was asked. Another two SEC teams in the top 20 were defeated convincingly by teams that were from other conferences with Texas A&M getting blown out against Miami in the ACC, and Alabama being out coached and outplayed versus Texas in the BIG 12 (Soon to be SEC). As the season progresses, it should be interesting to see the results once the SEC’s conference games get started. We’ll get a good appetizer with Tennessee visiting Florida this week. Also, with this trend, is there an out of conference team eyeing Georgia?
