NFC East Quarterback Ranking

The NFC East has been a very interesting division, and a competitive one, with no back-to-back winners since the early 2000’s.

In the only division where all four teams have won a Super Bowl, this is certainly one of the more polarising divisions when it comes to quarterback opinions.

Here are the rankings of NFC East quarterbacks from four to one.

4. Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders)

The usual process in these rankings, rookie quarterbacks go last. We simply have not seen Jayden Daniels play in the league yet.

He has plenty of promise, and beat out veteran Marcus Mariota to the QB1 spot, but it is impossible to not put him last due to not yet throwing a pass in the NFL regular season.

3. Daniel Jones (New York Giants)

Daniel Jones is the nearest any other quarterback can be to being behind an NFL rookie in these lists. Apart from his 2022 campaign, which earned him that new deal, he has not been good at all at the NFL level.

He has got the use of his legs, which is the one thing that makes him somewhat worth keeping around. However, with 62 touchdowns and 40 interceptions during his NFL career so far, the New York Giants fans were proved right in their annoyance of GM Dave Gettleman drafting him sixth overall in 2019.

2. Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys)

Dak Prescott is one of the more polarising quarterbacks in the NFL. Some think he is good, some don’t. When you are the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, the media spotlight will always be on you.

Dak has certainly exceeded expectations since being drafted in the fourth round in 2016. However, he has had countless playoff disappointments and it is questionable whether he can win the big games.

His arm strength is undeniable, but he has had weapons since he first broke through. Whether this is Dez Bryant, Ezekiel Elliot, Amari Cooper or CeeDee Lamb, you cannot use a lack of weapons as an excuse to defend him.

This Cowboys team may have not added many names this offseason, but this team is still pretty good and Dak will always put up good numbers. It is just whether he can put the team on his back and finally end the team’s long run of heartbreaks.

1. Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles)

It was a pretty impressive season in 2022 for Jalen Hurts as he and the Philadelphia Eagles went all the way to the Super Bowl, a performance that would have won them the game eight out of ten times.

However, Hurts saw a slump in 2023, and tensions with head coach Nick Sirianni have come to the fore in recent weeks.

Right now, Hurts is a one season wonder, but he has the ability to change this narrative. He has the ability to move around the pocket and dictate the game, but equally has relied on the tush push which may be not as effective in 2024 after the retirement of center Jason Kelce.

Hurts is under a lot of pressure to perform in 2024, but for now he still remains on top of this list, but the gap between him and Dak is very thin.
