Scouting Report:

  • High motor, relentless effort

  • Wilson's a versatile player that can line up all over the defensive formation.

  • A pure athlete, Wilson constantly showcases high-end speed and the ability to chase and run in pursuit

  • A sure tackler who brings down ball carriers with good technique.

  • He’s effective as a blitzer

  • Good defensive instincts

  • Displays good awareness and fundamentals in zone coverage.

  • Is able to shed blockers at the point of attack

  • Changes direction efficiently and fluidly with no wasted movements.

  • Incredibly disciplined and sticks to his assignments.

  • There are plays where he seems to bite heavy on Play-Action but can make up for it with his athleticism.

  • While effective and productive off the edge in college, he lacks the size, bend and twitch, needed to win consistently in the NFL which will limit his positional flexibility there.

The 2023 ACC Tackles Leader and Defensive Player of The Year is a force to be reckoned with. An experienced college football veteran with strong leadership qualities. His versatility adds depth and adaptability to any defensive scheme. Wilson has a nose for the ball and consistently finishes plays. Wilson has the athleticism and instincts to effectively cover tight ends and running backs.

He has an extensive injury history. Has suffered knee injuries, torn ACL, shoulder injuries including a torn labrum. However, for the last 2 seasons, he's enjoyed a clean bill of health and demonstrated what he can do when all cylinders are firing. The risk is certainly worth the reward for any team willing to take it. He is a potential defensive stalwart and mainstay.
