Abram goes right back to the start with how he got into football.

I got into football at a young age. I was playing flag football growing up. I enjoyed football, it was more my dads sport and all that. He wanted every kid to participate in some activity rather than sitting around.

He also talked about how he became a running back.

Growing up I played every position and kind of went around everywhere. That is because as a young athlete they kind of want you to play in different spots. Like if you have a player over there who is a good receiver, they want to put another athlete on him to cover. I ended up sticking to running back in middle school ball. I was kind of just playing running back and line backer. Which is kind of crazy as that is what I did in College.

Then we moved on to talk about his college career including his brilliant performance in the 2021 Sugar Bowl vs Ole Miss and a truly stand out performance from Abram and was where he set the single season rushing record for Baylor.

In the running back room we took our notebooks and put down our goals for the season. I put down I wanted to be the best back in the big 12. I wanted to be a big 12 champ and win a bowl game. So with them goals down I kind of just stuck to it. The fact that the single season rushing record came to me when did it blew my mind but at the same time I wasn’t thinking about that. I was thinking how do we win this ball game

We also learn about his close relationship with his dad and how he is his coach and his inspiration and a big motivator to achieve. After his college career Abram had the chance to go to training camp with the New Orleans Saints and be part of what was an excellent running back room and how he stayed motivated following getting cut and getting work outs with a wide range of teams.

Finally we moved onto the XFL and him getting selected first in the Skills position draft.

The XFL is a window of opportunity to showcase skills and talents. It is advantageous having an owner who knows where we are coming from and been in our shoes before. He is that person (Dwayne Johnson) he probably wished he had back then. The draft experience itself is very similar to the NFL and like the NFL draft you wait around for a phone call. I remember I received that phone call and being the first one. I was getting asked am I ready to go? Was I ready to be a defender? I then said I’m ready to get this going.

Truly an episode not to be missed and everyone here at the Franchise tag wish him a successful season. We all know you will ball this year.
