Reggie initially started talking about training,

Training is going very good. We have been really excited to get a chance to get this group of guys we selected on our team. We had a very good draft led by Von Hutchins and we’re here. Obviously in Arlington Texas. All of our guys are here, have been lifting and running and will kick off with our first football specific training tomorrow.

Reggie also described the league as a league of Opportunity, saying,

We have been truly bless with great leaders and owners who have put this group of people together. They have ran it first class up until now. It gives these men who want an opportunity, who has the desire to play to get extra coaching and to get more experience.

Gareth and Reggie discuss about how he got involved in the XFL and also about players like Abram Smith this league is a great opportunity to demonstrate his talents. They also discuss what coaches inspired him and he learnt of.

They have done a good job of the coaches they’ve hired over these teams, you mentioned Rod Woodson who is a hall of famer. My Coaching pedigree and my style of coaching comes from my college coach Houston Markham, who really taught me about hard work, grit, not getting tired and staying in the fight. Also my professional coach at the Jacksonville Jaguars Tom Coughlin and learning a lot about discipline and attention to detail and being the same with everybody.

Gareth and Reggie also talked about his college experience and how that prepared him for this experience and about the XFL draft process and the unusual nature of being able to draft a whole roster of players. He also discussed what he says to his players,

Do not take this opportunity for granted as each one of them was strategically picked to be part of this team and this league and was a cool process.

Reggie was also very pleased to get the first pick in the XFL draft saying

Opportunity to take the first player was a blessing in itself. We wanted someone who brought toughness, great mindset. An outstanding college career, with lots of touchdowns and great production. Could run inside and run for speed outside and he was the full package (Abram Smith).

Then the discussion about Uniforms came up and DC getting a very “Lit” uniform and what we should expect from a Reggie Barlow side and his excitement to play against each of the excellent coaches in the XFL. He also discussed about the British fans and why they should be DC Defenders.
