Who is the Best QB in the NFC East

The NFC has gone through some big changes in recent years, going from NFC Least to NFC Beast in recent times with 3 teams making the playoffs last season. But who is the Top QB in the Division?

1. Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles)

12 months is a long time in the NFL, and it is hard to imagine having Hurts as the best quarterback in the division a year ago. Not only is he now the best quarterback in the NFC East, but he is arguably now the best QB in the entire NFC.

Hurts led the Eagles team to the Super Bowl, before narrowly losing out to the Kansas City Chiefs in Arizona.

Whilst he did have a fumble in the game, Hurts was electric, with 304 yards in the air and one passing touchdown, as well as 70 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Some people called for him to win MVP despite losing in the game. That’s how good he was.

With a 14-1 regular season record in 2022, Hurts threw for 3,701 yards, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions, as well as 760 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns.

Time is to tell whether this was a one off or if this is a sign of things to come, especially with the loss of Offensive Coordinator Shane Steichen, but a new $255 million deal suggests the front office are fully behind him.

From his ability to move in the pocket with relative ease, to his connection with wide receiver A.J. Brown, his selection at number one is an easy one.

2. Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys)

Dak has his critics, but you can’t deny he has been a good quarterback for the Cowboys. It is questionable whether he is the guy to win Dallas a Super Bowl, he has still thrown for 24,943 yards, 166 touchdowns and 65 interceptions. For someone that was a fourth-round selection, this is not bad at all.

Dak had a difficult 2022, with a career low in yards and a career high in interceptions, but he can hope for a bounce back year in 2023. With CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and Free Agency addition Brandin Cooks, as well as running back Tony Pollard, this offense should find it hard to struggle in 2023, even with the addition of Brian Schottenheimer as offensive coordinator.

If Dak struggles in 2023, Dallas are in a tricky situation where they won’t be high enough on the draft board to take a Caleb Williams but won’t be challenging for Superbowl Glory either.

With Micah Parsons in the defence with an elite defensive coordinator in Dan Quinn, they have a Bonafide Superstar they will want to build around. Dak needs to be on his game to make sure they don’t waste this roster’s potential. If he has a repeat of last season Dak could easily swap places with Daniel Jones next season.

3. Daniel Jones (New York Giants)

Jones had a difficult start to life in New York, but has a career year in 2022, answering a lot of critics, with just five interceptions, 3,205 passing yards as well as 708 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. Jones who in particular was impressive with the timing and distance of each run with him averaging 5.8 yards per attempt. Jones has since been rewarded with a new $82m fully guaranteed contract.

A playoff win against the Minnesota Vikings showcased Jones’ ability to perform when it matters, and he will be hoping to continue this trajectory in 2023.

4. Sam Howell (Washington Commanders)

It is unclear whether Howell will be the starter at the end of the season, but right now the job is his.

With a very small sample size, Howell cannot be anywhere but fourth in what could be his only season as a starter in the NFL.
