October 1st, 2024: The Minnesota Vikings will invade Outernet London at Tottenham Court Road on Saturday, October 5th, with a fully immersive American football takeover to honour their loyal UK following while introducing the NFL franchise to a host of new fans.

.

The event comes ahead of the Vikings’ game against the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 6th, October. Visitors can enjoy a full day of free activities from 10am to 11:30pm, including Viking-themed displays on the world’s biggest LED screens, interactive activities, and immersive performances. Check out a sneak peek of what is to come on the Vikings UK Instagram channel here.

Old and new fans will find themselves at the centre of SKOL chants (Vikings ‘fight song’ made famous by Icelandic football fans at EURO 2016) and surrounded by a host of traditional Viking costumes. Immersed in the unique atmosphere and fanfare synonymous with the team’s U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota, attendees can get up close and personal with their favourite stars, enjoy live performances from Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders and also visit the Fanatics Locker Room Store, where fans will be able to shop exclusive London Games product and personalise their New Era cap with a range of exclusive NFL patches.

Attendees will also have the chance to meet with legendary wide receiver Cris Carter, the franchise’s all-time leading receiver in yards and touchdowns. Cris will be joined by Jake Reed, a third-round pick by the Vikings back in 1991 who is widely regarded as one of the best wide receivers in franchise history. The pair, alongside Randy Moss, formed the trio ‘Three Deep’, famous for its offensive performances during the 1990s.

Keisha Wyatt, Vikings’ Director of International Marketing, commented ahead of the event: “We are so excited to be back in London for this year's NFL London Games and knew from the outset we had to create a fan experience bigger and better than anything we have done before. Taking advantage of the technology utilised by Outernet we have created an incredibly immersive experience for our amazing UK fans to enjoy the Vikings like never before.

By showcasing the best of the Vikings and American Football in the heart of London, we hope to continue growing our presence in the UK while introducing ourselves to a whole new audience in a way they won't forget.”

The activation at Outernet furthers the Vikings’ commitment to the UK fanbase, where they have marketing rights through the NFL’s Global Markets Program. The Global Markets Program, which launched in January 2022, grants NFL clubs’ access to international markets for marketing, fan engagement and commercialisation activations as part of an important, long-term strategic effort to enable clubs to build their brands globally while driving NFL fan growth beyond the U.S.

In addition to the event at Outernet and game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Vikings will be active in the UK throughout October, including hosting the first-ever Minnesota Vikings NFL Flag Tournament in Newcastle and daily fan events at Greenwood Sports Pub & Kitchen in London (170 Victoria St, London, SW1E 5LB).

The team has played in London three times previously and remains undefeated, having beaten the Pittsburgh Steelers at Wembley in 2013, the Cleveland Browns at Twickenham in 2017 and more recently, a narrow 28-25 win over the Saints in their first outing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium two years ago.
