KEY STORYLINES

  • Louis Rees-Zammit’s Fulfils Childhood Dream

    • Five months on since his sensational signing with the reigning Super Bowl champions, IPP Program graduate Louis Rees-Zammit (LRZ) will make his greatly anticipated debut alongside Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce against the Jaguars on August 10th.

    • Completing the transition from rugby to American football, should LRZ make the active roster he will follow in the footsteps of fellow IPP Program graduates Jordan Mailata, Efe Obada, Jakob Johnson, Sammis Reyes and David Bada.

    • How the Chiefs choose to best utilise the Welshman’s skill set remains to be seen, however, if anyone can find a way it will be three-time Super Bowl winning Head Coach, Andy Reid.

  • Charlie Smyth Kicks for Glory

    • The first Irishman to gain his spot in the NFL through the IPP Program, Charlie Smyth put pen to paper with the New Orlean Saints in March after impressing at the NFL Specialist Showcase in Indianapolis earlier in the year.

    • It’s been a whirlwind 2024 for the 22 years old, who started the year playing county Gaelic Football for Down and working as a primary school teacher. He is now only weeks away from the kicking for goal in front of 73,000 people at the Superdome.

    • Smyth joins fellow Irishman, Dan Whelan, in the league this year, who will continue for a second year at the Green Bay Packers.

  • Efe Obada Back for More

    • Following a difficult end to his 2023 campaign, in which Obada was sidelined for the final six weeks of the regular season, the UK’s current longest serving NFL player is back with the Commanders for a third year.

    • In 2018, Efe Obada became the first payer from the IPP Program to be activated onto a 53-man roster.

  • Jermaine Eluemunor Giants Debut

    • Following three years in Las Vegas, Eluemunor switches the west coast for the east coast in 2024, having signed the first two-year deal of his career with the New York Giants in March, which has been his dream since he first started following the NFL.

  • Scottish Hammer Ready for Kick Off

    • Jamie Gillan welcomes Eluemunor to New York for the 2024 season, as he marks his third year with the Giants.

    • He will hope to follow on from a strong 2023 season, which saw him named the Week 18 NFC Special Teams Player of the week.

  • Vikings, Jags, Bears and Jets Prepare for London 2024

    • As anticipation builds for the 2024 London Games, four teams set to take to the field at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will give fans a sneak peak of what they can look forward to in October.

    • All four of these teams have marketing rights in the UK as part of the Global Markets Program, with the New Yorks Jets also awarded rights in Ireland for the next five years as part of the program earlier in the year.
